Judith A. McHale

Judith A. (Keohane) McHale, age 87, a resident of Hudson, NH died peacefully on Wednesday, October 26 2022 at her home in Hudson surrounded by her loving family.  She was the beloved wife of the late John L. McHale, Jr. who died in 2003.

She was born in Lowell on August 23, 1935, and was a daughter of the late James and Anne (Boyle) Keohane.  She received her education in Lowell schools and was a graduate of Lowell High School where she served as Captain of Girl Officers.

Judith’s life was her family and taking care of them and spending time in their company was her greatest joy.

After raising her children, she decided to go to work at the Courier Citizen in Lowell, where she took such pride.  When the grandchildren arrived, she went back to what made her most happy, taking care of them.

She is survived by two sons, James McHale and his wife Suzanne of Pelham, NH and Daniel McHale and his wife Colleen of Dracut; two daughters, Mary Dowling and her husband David, with whom she resided, and AnnMarie Tierney and her husband Thomas, all of Hudson, NH; a daughter-in-law, Marcy McHale of Methuen; eleven grandchildren, Jenna Bowen and her husband Steven of Sterling, Michael McHale and his wife Kelsie of Dracut, Emily Gorski and her husband Daniel of Groveland, Rebecca Whittredge and her husband Dale of Haverhill, Kaleigh Gause and her husband Alec of Derry, NH, Patrick McHale and his wife Anna of Lowell, Lindsey Dowling and her fiancè Lee Tremblay of Hudson, NH, Kristen Dowling of Hudson, NH, Kaitlyn Wilford and her husband Nicholas of Merrimack, NH, Kevin Tierney of Hudson, NH and Thomas Tierney of Hudson, NH; ten great grandchildren, Ava, Vivienne, JJ, Levi, Kennedy, Maddy, Jayce, Carter, Beau, and Casey; and many nieces and nephews.

She was also the mother of the late John McHale and the sister of the late Joan Donnelly.

Relatives and friends are invite to attend Judith’s Life Celebration at the MCKENNA-OUELLETTE FUNERAL HOME, 327 Hildreth Street, Lowell on Monday from 9:00am until 11:00am followed by her Funeral Mass to be celebrated at 12:00pm at St. Margaret of Scotland Church in Lowell.  Burial in St. Mary Cemetery in Tewksbury.  In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Judith’s memory to American Heart Association, 300 5th Ave, Waltham, MA 02451.
