Joy Millette, age 82, a long time resident of Lowell, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August, 18, 2021, after a long illness.
Joy was born in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and met her husband Roland, a Lowell native, in Colorado Springs, Colorado while he was stationed in the military. Joy graduated Will Rogers High School in 1956, in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Joy worked for Analog Devices, in Wilmington, for 25 years and CTI, in Lowell, as the coordinator of the Fuel Assistance Program for 5 years before retiring in 2006. Joy's happiest times were spent visiting Walt Disney World, going on cruises with her family and watching her grandsons participate in local theater groups.
Joy is survived by her daughters Tammy Millette, Vickie and her husband Jose (Tony) Reyes and grandsons Justin and Matthew, all of Lowell. Maureen Reilly, who she considered to be her third daughter. Siblings Jack Williams of Oklahoma, Sharon Hunter of Texas, Judy Lankister of Oklahoma and Dwight Williams of Arkansas and many nieces and nephews.
Joy was predeceased by her husband Roland Millette, with whom she was married to for 46 years. Her mother Frances Monroe Williams (Layman) and brother Jeffrey Williams.
Relatives and friends are invited to Joy's Memorial Life Celebration on Monday, from 4 until 8 PM, at the McKENNA-OUELLETTE FUNERAL HOME, 327 Hildreth Street, Lowell. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the charity of your choice in Joy's name.
