DRACUT- Joseph A. Schiripo, 83, husband of Lillian (Mailloux) Schiripo who survives him and member of a widely known Dracut family, died Wednesday morning at a local nursing home.
Born in Dracut on February 29, 1928, he was a son of the late John and Josephine (Sandelli) Schiripo. He attended Dracut schools and was a graduate of Dracut High School.
During World War II, Mr. Schiripo served his country in the United States Army attaining the rank of Private Second Class. Prior to his enlistment and following his discharge from the service, he was involved in his family's business, New England Cement Block in Dracut, where he was a mason and truck driver for many years.
Mr. Schiripo was a member of the Dracut American Legion, Leo Roth Post 315. He formerly was a coach for the Dracut Little League and enjoyed hunting with his sons.
In addition to his loving wife Lillian, he is survived by four sons, Joseph A. Schiripo, Michael L. Schiripo, James R. Schiripo and John A. Schiripo and his wife Anna all of Dracut; two daughters, Renee Wells and her husband John of Palm City, FL and Paula Nolin and her husband Michael of Dracut; six grandchildren, Lindsay, Peter and Gianna Nolin, Amanda, Samantha and Giovanni Schiripo; two great grandchildren; a brother, John "Junior" Schiripo of Dracut, two sisters, Rose Sarro and Dorothy Potvin and her husband Henry of Dracut, four sisters in law, Mary Schiripo, Jeannie Schiripo, Louise Schiripo, all of Dracut and Liz Schiripo of Pelham, NH and many nieces and nephews. .
Joseph was also the brother of the late Frank Schiripo, Mary Lenzi, Pasquale "Pat" Schiripo, Mabel Vito, Renaldo "Renne" Schiripo, Ferdinand "Fred" Schiripo, Violet "Vi" Demarais, Anthony "Tony" Schiripo, Margaret Morin, Josephine "Josie" DiRocco and Orlando "Andy" Schiripo and brother in law of the late Stephanie Schiripo
