LOWELL - Joseph E. "Omer" Mousseau, 89, a resident of the Centralville section of Lowell, died Tuesday, February 13, 2007 at the Lowell General Hospital. He was the husband of Doris (Larrivee) Mousseau.
Born in Lowell on September 19, 1917, he was a son of the late Maxime and Alexandrine (DeCelle) Mousseau.
Mr. Mousseau served with the United States Army during World War II. He was a communicant of Ste. Marguerite D'Youville Parish in Dracut and while residing in Florida was a member of Our Lady Queen of Martyrs Parish in Sarasota. He was a member of the Ste. Marguerite D'Youville 600 Club, the D.A.V., Chapter 25 of Lowell, a lifetime member of the Centralville Social Club and a member of the St. Jude League.
Prior to his retirement in 1978, he was the owner/operator of Mousseau's Custom Tailor and Cleaners located on West Sixth Street.
In addition to his wife he is survived by five sons, Robert J. Mousseau of Lowell, Gerard A. Mousseau of Bradenton, FL, Edward O. Mousseau and his wife Lorraine of Getzville, NY, Normand G. Mousseau and his wife Cynthia of West Palm Beach, FL and Roger P. Mousseau and his wife Anne of Bradenton, FL; a daughter, Jo-Ann Coutu and her husband Leonard of Dracut; two brothers, Adelard Mousseau of Bradenton, FL and George Mousseau and his wife Lillian of Hudson, NH; 18 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. He was the father of the late infant Jean-Marie Mousseau and brother of the late Lionel Mousseau, Lydia Marcoux and Sylvia Fortier.
