Joseph F. Moreau, 87, a resident of Dracut, passed away at his home on Tuesday, September 15, 2015 with his loving family by his side, following a period of declining health.
He was the husband of the late Pauline F. (Beaudoin) Moreau.
Joe was born in Lowell on February 19, 1928, a son of the late Joseph O. and Alice (Bourassa) Moreau.
Prior to his retirement, he was employed by the University of Lowell in the plumbing department.
He was a communicant of St. Mary Magdalen Parish in Tyngsboro. He was a former member of the Ste. Therese Church Men's Club and the Lowell and Dracut Senior Citizen's Clubs.
Joe was an Army Veteran of both World War II and the Korean War. He was a Life Member and Honor Guard Member of the VFW Walker Rogers Post 662.
Joe is survived by a son, Robert P. Moreau and his wife Jacqueline of Dracut; four daughters, Gloria Beals and her husband George of Jaffrey, NH, Lucille Decker and her husband Tom of Jaffrey, NH, Lorraine (Moreau) Mackey of Dracut and Carol Lewis and her husband David of Jaffrey, NH; a sister, Priscilla Vigeant of Dracut; a sister-in-law, Marie Moreau of Lowell; eight grandchildren, Gregory Beals, Leslie Mackey, Keith McDonald, Jill Ramsey and her husband Scott, Timothy Moreau, Scott Parent and his wife Jessica, Nathan Parent and Brandon Moreau; five great grandchildren, Paul and Nicholas O'Connor, Liam, Sawyer and Hazel Parent; also several nieces and nephews. He also leaves his longtime companion, Rita Bastien of Hudson, NH. He was the grandfather of the late Kimberly Moreau, brother of the late Andrew Moreau and Annette Tremblay, father-in-law of the late William Mackey and brother-in-law of the late Paul Vigeant.
