Joseph R. Messier, 60 years old, a resident of Lowell, died unexpectedly March 29 at his residence.
Born in Lowell on June 17, 1952, he was a son of Raymond F. Messier of Lowell who survives him and the late Ruth E. (Roberts) Messier. He was a graduate of Lowell High School class of 1970 and attended Merrimack College.
Mr. Messier was self- employed as a union finish painter in the Greater Lowell area for over twenty years and a member of the Lafayette Club in Lowell. While in High School he played trombone in the school's dance band and was an avid collector of antiques and artifacts. He spent eight years in Wyoming with friends which remained close to his heart. Joseph will be remembered by his family and many friends as a man of integrity, a keen sense of humor and great generosity.
In addition to his Father, He is survived by two sisters, Katherine Vaillancourt and her husband Roland of Chatham, MA and Elizabeth Messier of Medford, MA ; two nieces, a nephew and seven great nieces
