Joseph R. Bob Lafreniere

Joseph R. "Bob" Lafreniere, the beloved husband of Dorothy (Charron) Lafreniere, a resident of Dracut, died Friday November 5, 2010 at the Whittier Rehabilitation Hospital in Haverhill following an extended illness. He was 79.
Joseph was born in Lowell on January 29, 1931, a son of the late Raymond and Rena (Carpentier) Lafreniere.
He was educated in the Lowell schools, and had served in the US Air Force during the Korean War. Joseph was employed for many years as the parts manager for Bournival Chrysler.
He was also a past President of the Chrysler Parts Manager's Guild. Joe held membership in the Lowell VFW Post 662, the Lowell American Legion Post 87, and the Aircraft Owners Pilots Association.
One of his greatest loves was flying. He would fly from the former Tew-Mac airport in Tewksbury.
Surviving him besides his wife are a son Lawrence E. Lafreniere and his partner Denise Kearns of Lowell; a daughter, Linda Lee of Billerica; two grandsons, Kristopher Lee, Nicholas Lee and his wife Mary; two granddaughters, Cheri Lafreniere, Leslie Detellis and her partner Kevin Sullivan; a great granddaughter Emma Detellis; a great grandson Robert Lee; a brother and sister in law Raymond and Monique Lafreniere; three sisters and a brother in law, Gloria Carignan, Marie and Raymond St. Armand, Diana Gelinas all of Lowell; and several nieces and nephews. He was the father in law of the late Robert W. Lee and also the brother of the late Donald Lafreniere.
