Joseph J. Gonsalves, 81, of Dracut, formerly of Lowell and Tewksbury, died Thursday July 2, 2015 at Lowell General Hospital- Saints Campus. He was the beloved husband of Michelle C. (Bolduc) Gonsalves of Dracut who survives him.
Born in Lowell on July 4, 1933, he was a son of the late Manuel J. Gonsalves and Della (Rosa) Gonsalves.
Joe was a painter, a proud member of Local 30. He was a man who could fix most anything, even if it was not broken. Joe loved horses and had fond memories of growing up in their presence. He had a great sense of humor and will be missed dearly by his loving family
In addition to his wife, Joe is survived by, Richard Gonsalves of Groton, Michael and Annette Gonsalves of Bangor, ME, Manuel and Stacey Gonsalves of Methuen MA, Carol and John Johnson of Groton MA, Louise and Jeffrey Martinson of Monett, MO, Karen, Jason, and Stephen Capua of Lowell MA, Robin Lowthers of Lowell MA , Jo Ann and Allen Sembler of Hollywood, FL; his siblings, Mary and Frank Santos of Hudson, NH, James and Beverly Gonsalves of Lowell, Beatrice and Richard Hayden of Newburg,FL, Barbara Jewell of North Chelmsford, Frank and Barbara Gonsalves of Tewksbury, Antoinette and Charles Hamblett of Derry, NH, Thomas and Melanie Gonsalves of North Chelmsford; his brothers and sister-in-law, Paul E. Bolduc of Albuquerque, NM, Robert R. and Linda Bolduc of Lowell; 21 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and many dear friends
He was the brother of the late Manuel Gonsalves, John Gonsalves, Theresa Scarmeas and Rita Nyman, father-in-law of the late Mark Capua and brother-in-law of the late Denise Lawrence.
