Obituary
DRACUT - Joseph G. E. "Uncle Ed" Fleury Sr., 76, a resident of Dracut, died Saturday, January 22, 2005 in a local nursing home. He was the beloved husband of Pauline M. (Riberdy) Fleury with whom he celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary on April 17, 2004.
Born in Lowell on June 26, 1928, he was a son of the late Frank and Evelyn (St. Cyr) Fleury.
Mr. Fleury served with the United States Army during World War II. He was a member of the V.F.W. Walker Rogers Post 662.
Prior to his retirement, he was employed by General Aluminum and Harvey Industries of Woburn.
A local entertainer, Mr. Fleury was the band leader of the Acoustics and later a member of the Franco-American Performing Group.
He was a communicant of Ste. Therese Church in Dracut and was a member of the Dracut Senior Citizens, Lowell Senior Citizens, Guard of the Sacred Heart and A.A.R.P.
In addition to his wife he is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Paul and Joni Fleury of Dracut and Joseph G. and Geraldine Fleury Jr. of Manchester, NH; a daughter and son-in-law, Jacqueline and Philip Oliveria of Dracut; a brother and sister-in-law, Henry and Rita Fleury of Daytona, FL; a sister, Helen Lukasiak of Goffstown, NH; eight grandchildren, James Blute, Sandra Koch, Gregory Blute, Christopher Fleury, Jennifer Fleury, Lynden Fleury, David Fleury and Gary Raymond;five great grandchildren; three step grandchildren, five step great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. He was the father of the late Dorothy Ann Fleury and brother of the late Charles Fleury.
