PELHAM, NH - Joseph M. Ferreira, 78, a resident of Pelham, NH, passed away on Thursday, November 9, 2017, with his loving family by his side. He was the beloved husband of Maureen B. "Molly" (Conway) Ferreira with whom he shared 57 years of happiness.
Born in Lowell on December 10, 1938, he was a son of the late Joaquim and Virginia (Nobrega) Ferreira.
Mr. Ferreira grew up in Lowell and was a graduate of Lowell High School, Class of 1956.
He had worked as a mechanic for General Motors of Framingham for 28 years and retired from the City of Lowell School Department following 13 years of employment.
Prior to building his home in Pelham, NH, Joe and Molly were long time residents of the Centralville section of Lowell where they raised their children and attended St. Michael Church.
His hobbies included astronomy, making model airplanes, fishing, bird watching and enjoying the outdoors. He enjoyed traveling with his wife Molly in their younger years.
Paramount to Joe was spending time with his family, he especially enjoyed watching his grandchildren's sporting events and going to breakfast on Saturday mornings with his son and grandson where they were known as the three Joe's. A kind and gentle soul, he was an inspiration to his children and grandchildren and will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
In addition to his wife Molly he leaves two children, Karen A. Schaffer and her husband Glenn and Joseph M. Ferreira, Jr. and his wife Jennifer (Abraham), all of Pelham, NH; four grandchildren, Timothy and Hannah Schaffer and Sarah and Joseph W. Ferreira; a brother-in-law, William R. Conway of Lowell; also many nieces and nephews. He was a brother of the late John and Anthony Ferreira, Mary Sypien, Angelina Adams, Hilda Ferreira and Alice Andrade and was a brother-in-law of the late Karen A, Conway.
