Joseph D.A. Daigle, 78,a lifelong Dracut resident, died peacefully on May 26, 2011 at his Dracut residence ,following a brief illness. He was the loving husband of Mary Jane (Goudreau) Daigle with whom he would have celebrated fifty-five years of marriage in September.
Joe was born in Lowell on December 25, 1932, sharing that birth date with only two other children in the city that year as documented in a newspaper article.. He was a son of the late Donat T. and Lydia (Desrosiers) Daigle.
Mr. Daigle attended Lowell Schools. He enlisted with the United States Air Force in 1951 having served during the Korean War. He worked as a laborer in the construction field and later in his career transitioned to a position in the trucking industry.
Joe enjoyed gardening, country music, and fishing.He held membership in the Centralville Social Club, The CCA Club and was a member of the VFW Local 662.
In addition to his wife, survivors include nine children and their spouses; Donna Fadden and her husband, Ronald, Pauline Zambs and her husband, Clayton, Shirley Kearns, Susan Smith, Elaine Lefebvre, Robert Daigle, David Daigle, Kevin Daigle and Nancy Daigle; twelve grandchildren; four great grandchildren; three brothers, Richard Daigle and his wife, Mary, Edmond Daigle and his wife, Claire, Donald Daigle; a sister, Camille Eno and her husband, Donald; many nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Lorraine Poirier, Gerald Daigle, Ronald Daigle and Ernest Daigle.
