Joseph M. "Joe" Boucher, 82, a resident of Hudson, NH and a former longtime Dracut resident died peacefully on Thursday September 12, 2013 at the Parkland Medical Center, in Derry, NH, surrounded by his loving family, following a long illness. He was the beloved husband of Anna "Nancy" (Murphy) Boucher of Hudson, NH. They were married for 49 years.
Born in Lowell on May 30, 1931, He was a son of the late Alice (Boucher) Williams.
Joe was a proud veteran of the United States Air Force having served during the Korean Conflict. He worked for many years as a nursing assistant at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Bedford and the former J.B. Thomas Hospital in Peabody. For a short time, while living in Arizona, Joe worked at the Arizona State Hospital in the forensic medicine department. In 1973, Joe and his wife, Nancy moved to Dracut with their family and he began a career at the United States Post Office where he would work until his retirement in 1997.
Joe was a family man, who cherished time spent at home with his wife and daughters. He also loved to travel to places all over the world making precious memories with his wife. One of his favorite pastimes was following Monday night WWE Wrestling.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his two daughters, Sandy Hollingshead and Doreen Haynes of Hudson, NH; a grandson, David Back of Lowell, MA.; three sisters-in-law, Pauline Brennan of Jensen Beach, FL., Joyce Murphy of Worcester, MA. and Marion LeBrun of Dalton, ME.; many nieces and nephews.
