LOWELL - John H. Roy, age 50, a resident of Lowell and former Dracut resident died unexpectedly Wednesday, September 1, 2021 at his home.
He was born in Lowell on November 15 1970, and was a son of the late John V. Roy, who died on November 17, 2019 and Vickie M. (Callicut) Roy, who died on August 20, 2021.
He received his education in Lowell schools and was a graduate of Dracut High School. He earned his Bachelors Degree from University of New Haven, CT.
Prior to his retirement, John was employed for many years as corrections officer at the North Central Correctional Institute in Gardner.
John was an avid football fan, especially the New England Patriots and he enjoyed spending time with his faithful companion Stitch.
He is survived by his son, Matthew Alan Roy of Townsend; his sister, Kimberly Roy and her partner Aaron Carroll of Concord, NH; his nephew, Christian Enwright of Dracut, MA; his step-mother, Kimberly Brady Roy of Fort Myers, FL; and many dear friends.
He was also the brother of the late Keith Roy.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend John's and his mother Vickie's Life Celebration at the MCKENNA-OUELLETTE FUNERAL HOME, 327 Hildreth Street, Lowell on Monday, September 13th from 5:00 until 7:00pm. Their burial will be private at St. Joseph Cemetery in Chelmsford.
