John M. Dougherty

Dracut – John M. Dougherty, the beloved son of Thomas Dougherty of DeLeon Springs, FL and Mary (Ryan) Dougherty of South Berwick, ME, died Sunday July 31, 2011 at his Dracut residence. He was 51.
John was born in Lowell on March 10, 1960. He attended Sacred Heart Grammar School, Lowell High School, University of Lowell where he received a B.S. in Criminal Justice. John then attended Boston University where he received a Master of Planning and Urban Development.
John has been a firefighter for the city of Lowell since 2004 and was currently serving as a lieutenant.
Surviving him besides his parents are his three children, Katherine R. Dougherty, Elizabeth Dougherty, John C. Dougherty all of Lowell; brothers, sister, brother in law, sisters in law, Joseph and Paula Dougherty of East Wakefield, NH, Tom and Robin Dougherty of Brookfield, NH, Anne and Michael Dietsch of South Berwick, ME, Michael Dougherty of Chelmsford, Mark and Barbara Dougherty of Dracut, Paul Dougherty of Lowell, Christopher and Kelly Dougherty of Andover; and several nieces and nephews. He is now with his son Andrew who died in 1990.
