John P. Donohoe

John P. Donohoe, a resident of the Christian Hill neighborhood in the Centralville section of Lowell, died Tuesday March 17, 2009, at the Lowell General Hospital following a brief illness. He was 83.
Born in Lowell on November 25, 1925, he was a son of the late Peter and Sarah (O'Hara) Donohoe.
He was a WWII veteran having served in the US Navy
John was a lifelong communicant of St. Michael Church. He was employed as a boiler engineer for the former B&M Railroad and later the Newark Atlantic Paperboard Company.
John was a compassionate caretaker, caring for his parents and later his cousin.
He enjoyed tinkering around his house and his various household projects, and tending to his garden. John was a New England sports fan, but looked forward to his annual reunion with his shipmates from the USS LST.
Survivors include a niece, Mary Ellen Johnston of Holiday, FL; two nephews, John Farley, Kevin Farley and his wife Lise all of Chelmsford; great nephews and a great niece, Eric Johnston, Sarah Farley, Mike Johnston, Brett Johnston, Sean Farley; and several cousins and good friends. He was the brother of the late Mary Farley and uncle of the late Joe Farley, Jr.
