LOWELL - John F. Craig, 77, a lifelong resident of Lowell, died Sunday, October 22, 2017 at Northwood Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center in Lowell.
He was born in Lowell on March 7, 1940, and was a son of the late John F. and Frances A. (LaRock) Craig. He received his education in Lowell schools and was a graduate of Lowell High School and he earned his bachelor's degree from Lowell Teacher's College.
Prior to his illness, John was the owner and operator of John Craig Auto Sales formerly in Lowell and then Tyngsboro.
In more recent years, he was employed as a substitute teacher for Lowell Public Schools.
John was a member of the Lowell Commission on Disability.
He enjoyed cars, watching sports, especially football, and the outdoors.
John is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Steven and Jessica Craig of Somerville and his beloved cat, Somer.
