Lowell- John Joseph Brown, 77, husband of Rita E (Mondazzi) Brown, died Thursday, March 31 at his home.
Born in Lowell on April 24, 1927, he was a son of the late James and Catherine (Gaffney) Brown. He attended local schools and was a corporal in the US Army having served in Korea.
Prior to his retirement Mr Brown was an electrician for the University of Lowell. He was a member of the VFW Post 662, the Lafayette Club and the SAC Club. He enjoyed playing billiards and was an avid golfer.
Surviving him besides his wife are five sons and four daughters-in-law, Kevin and Janet Brown of Lowell, Kenneth Brown of Boston, James and Susan Brown of Rindge, NH, Bruce and Karen Brown of Chelmsford and David and Renee Brown of Dracut; four daughters and sons-in-law, Patricia and Ronald Stuart of Chelmsford, Joelyn and Timothy Georges of Dracut, Cheryl and Michael Staid of Essex, MA and Kelley and Robert Bragel of Billerica; 17 grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Joseph and James Brown, Catherine Lynton, Margaret Mills, Helen Socha and Mary Garabedian.
