John Henry Brach, a resident of Emeritus at Meadow Lodge, Chelmsford, formerly of Holyoke Towers on Appleton St. in Holyoke, died on Wednesday July 3, 2013, following an extended illness. He was 88.
John was born in Holyoke on June 24, 1925, a son of the late Karol and Tekla (Gubala) Brach. He was educated in Holyoke and was a veteran of WWII, having served as a pilot delivering cargo shipments in the Army.
John worked for many years in the office at Acme Chain, a division of Rockwell Corporation.
He was a parishioner of Our Lady of The Cross Church in Holyoke.
John enjoyed listening to classical music, gardening, reading, and crossword and jigsaw puzzles. He loved playing bingo at his assisted living community, Emeritus at Meadow Lodge.
John was lovingly cared for by his niece Carolyn Brach-Norris and her husband William T. Norris of Lowell. He is survived by several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
He was the brother of the late Eleanora Brach, Helena Masson, Mary Brach, Janina Galayda, Irene Brach, Olga Brach, Cecile Brach, Adele Brodeur, Stanley Brach, Walter Brach, and Albert Frappier.
