John M. Berggren

August 9, 1943 — July 6, 2022

John M. Berggren, a Dracut resident and beloved husband of Joyce (Robinson) Berggren passed away on Wednesday, July 6, 2022 following a brief illness. He was 78.

Born in Stoneham on August 9, 1943, he was a son of the late William and Katherine (Hannan) Berggren. John grew up in Malden and graduated from Malden High School in 1962. He retired as an electrical lineman with the former Boston Edison Company, he later worked as a bartender and school bus driver. John and Joyce lived in Wakefield prior to moving to Dracut several years ago.

Surviving John Besides his wife Joyce with whom he was married for 47 years are his four sons and daughter in law Stephen and Elaine Berggren of Dracut, James Berggren of Woodbury, NJ, Michael Berggren of Dracut, Christopher Gilligan of Melrose; beloved Papa of four grandchildren, Nicolas and Olivia Berggren of Dracut, Violet Yantis Thompson of Philadelphia, PA, Maria Szczepanski of Connecticut; a sister Jane Barmash of Sandwich; and many nieces and nephews. John was the brother of the late Jean Bertrand.

Relatives and friends are invited to John's Life Celebration a the McKenna-Ouellette Funeral Home, 327 Hildreth Street, from 9:30 to 10:30 AM on Monday, July 18th. His Funeral Mass will follow in St. Francis Church, 115 Wheeler Rd Dracut at 11:00 AM. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations in John's name may be made to MSPCA - Angell at Nevins Farm, 400 Broadway Methuen, MA 01844
