Lowell- The many friends of Michael and Jeannette (Vaughn) Barros will be saddened to learn of the death of their special son John J. "Jack" Barros.
Jack fought a courageous lifelong battle with various ailments and died Thursday afternoon at the New England Pediatric Care Center in Billerica. He was eleven years old, born in Lowell on November 17, 1995.
Jack and his family were communicants of St. Michael Church. He had just finished the fourth grade at the Riley School in Lowell.
He enjoyed music, school, and being around people, especially the special attention from all those who loved him. More than ever he loved to listen to the voices of his mother and father.
Survivng him besides his parents are his paternal grandmother Gloria (O'Malley) Barros of Hudson, NH; maternal grandmother Lorraine (Safford) Vaughn of Lowell; uncles and aunts, Joseph F. Barros, Jr. and Mary Jane Barros of Dracut, Marianne and Mark Lemieux, Linda Ann and Edward Kulis, Lisa Ann Lundy All of Hudson, NH, Daniel and Susan Barros of Tyngsboro, Fred and Joyce Vaughn of No. Chelmsford, Russell and Cyndi Vaughn of Merrimac, Julie Almeida, Steven Vaughn both of Lowell; several cousins; and many special friends and caretakers at New England Pediatric Center in Billerica, the Professional Center of Andover, the Riley School including the summer program in Lowell. He was also the grandson of the late Joseph F. Barros, Sr.
