LOWELL-John C. "Jack" Abrams, 84, a longtime resident of the Centralville section of Lowell, died Wednesday May 23, 2012, at Saints Medical Center. He was the beloved husband of Dolores K. (Monbleau) Abrams of Lowell, with whom he celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on November 18, 2011.
Born in Buffalo, NY of March 14, 1928, he was a son of the late George and Marie (Johnson) Abrams.
A Veteran of the Korean Conflict, Jack served with the United States Army from 1951 until his honorable discharge in 1953. Jack was employed by the City of Lowell as a Deputy Chief on the Lowell Fire Department, retiring in early 1990's.
Jack held membership in the Retired Firefighters Association. He was a parishioner of Saint Francis Parish in Dracut.
In addition to his wife, survivors include two sons, John "Jack" Abrams and his wife Claire (Neary) of Lowell, Gary Abrams of Sparks, NV; a daughter, Joan Shapiro and her husband Dr. Michael Shapiro of Upper Saddle River, NJ; a brother, Joseph Abrams of CT; a sister, Beverly Patsourakos of Lowell; seven grandchildren, Meghan, Jonathan and Lauren Abrams, Robyn, Peter, Ben and Sam Shapiro; several nieces and nephews. He was a brother of the late George Abrams.
