Joan T. (Harris) Gray, 71, a resident of North Chelmsford, died Friday, January 15, 2016 at the Lowell General Hospital following a period of declining health.
Born in Lowell on July 12, 1944, she was a daughter of the late Frederick H. and Mary L. (Leonard) Harris.
Prior to her retirement, Joan was employed as a nurse's aide for the former St. Joseph's Hospital, St. John's Hospital and had also worked with Dr. Edward Saba.
Joan's family would like to thank the staff at the Lowell General Hospital, MS1 and MS2, especially Bertha, for the compassionate care given to Joan during her time there.
She is survived by a son, David Travis Gray and his wife Shawna of Fayette, AL; two grandchildren; four sisters, Marylouise McMahon of W. Palm Beach, FL, Charlotte A. Pare of Tewksbury, Isabel F. Light and her husband David of Howell, MI and Martha Anderson and her husband John of Magnolia, MA; two brothers, Ralph S. Harris and his wife Nancy of MN and Kevin E. Harris and his wife Marilyn of Lowell; a sister-in-law, Grace Marie Harris of Enid, OK; a brother-in-law, Robert St. Louis of MT; her Godson, Scott Anderson of Gloucester; also many nieces, nephews and friends at her senior housing center. She was a sister of the late Frederick C. and Robert A. Harris, and Maryclaire St. Louis. She was also predeceased by her companion of over 40 years, Chester R. Ferguson.
