Jennifer L. Courchaine, 48, passed peacefully on August 20, 2026 after a long battle with leukemia. She leaves behind her two children, Chelsea Montmarquet, 30, and William Guptill Jr, 23, both of Dracut, MA and her beloved fiancee, Thomas DeJesus, from Lowell, MA along with her father and half-brother, Russell and Russell Courchaine Jr. of Tamworth, NH.
Born in Lowell, MA on December 13, 1977 and raised by her late grandparents who she adored deeply, Theresa and Arthur Courchaine, of Dracut, MA. She attended Dracut Public Schools and graduated from Greater Lowell Technical High School in 1996 with a specialization in healthcare assistance.
Jen worked for Cool-Air Company, of Dracut, MA. for 15 years before moving onto working for SWR Construction, of Pelham, NH. Jennifer loved learning new things and had a knack for remodeling spaces, always trying to maximize function and aesthetics. Jen was also a talented nail technician and completed licensing at Laird Institute of Spa Therapy in 2013.
Jen was a natural caregiver, who always had a smile on her face and made sure everyone in the room was being included. She loved dancing, painting, crocheting, entertaining friends and family while singing off-key to her favorite Madonna and Whitney Houston songs. She was a kind-spirited, full of life soul who loved being around those who loved and cared for her deeply. Anyone who knew her, felt her warmth and witnessed her fierce devotion to her children and her partner.
In recent years, Jennifer took comfort and joy in knowing she was deeply loved, supported, and cared for by her fiancee Thomas, who spent the last two years by her side daily during cancer treatment. Jen fought cancer bravely and remained as hopeful as she could while undergoing chemotherapy, clinical trials, and stem-cell transplants.
Jennifer's Life Celebration will be held on Wednesday, September 2, 2026 from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM at McKenna-Ouellette Funeral Home at 327 Hildreth Street, Lowell. We encourage attendees to wear purple or a favorite outfit, as Jen would want us to truly celebrate in her fashion rather than grieving her loss.
