Jennie M. (Thistle) Rawnsley, 79, a resident of the Belvidere section of Lowell for many years, died unexpectedly on Sunday morning, June 14, 2008, at her home. She was the beloved wife of Charles F. Rawnsley, with whom she celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on September 6, 2008.
Born in Newfoundland, Canada, on December 15, 1929, she was a daughter of the late William and Patience (Evely) Thistle.
Mrs. Rawnsley was a longtime member of the Centralville United Methodist Church.
She was devoted to her family and especially devoted to her two grandsons.
In addition to her husband she is survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law, Gary F. and Alicia (Johnston) Rawnsley of Newburyport and Glenn W. Rawnsley of Lowell; a daughter and son-in-law, Charlene R. and Duncan H. MacLean of Lowell; a brother, Harold Thistle of Windham, NH; two sisters, Vera Stanford and Bertha Rowe, both of Canada; two grandsons, Daniel and Ian MacLean, both of Lowell; several nieces and nephews. She was a sister of the late Fred and Benjamin Thistle, Mabel Noseworthy, Aceneth Cramm and Millicent McCann.
