Jeannette M. (Grondine) Kane, 88, of Lowell passed away peacefully on Sunday June 17, 2012 at Lowell General Hospital. She was the wife of the late James F. Kane who died in 1987.
"Fig" as she was affectionately known as by her late husband and siblings, was born in Dracut on February 6, 1924. She was a daughter of the late George and Antoinette (Gauthier) Grondine.
For many years, Jeannette worked as a stitcher at Jay Dress. She loved to dance and looked so forward to attending the Lowell Folk Festival every year. She was known as "Jean, Jean the Dancing Machine" to those who knew and loved her.
Survivors include three daughters, Mary Cognac and her husband, Al of Lowell, Nancy Fortin and her husband, Rock of Lowell, Gail Hubin and her Partner, Dave of Lowell; a son, James F. Kane of Lowell; and a sister, Irene Dumont of Dracut. She was the loving Meme of 14 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren.
She was the mother of the late Carol Jusczak, sister of the late Charlie, Alfred, Thomas, Leo and Pete Grondine and sister-in-law of the late Paul Dumont.
