Jeannette (Riley) Horne

Jeannette (Riley) Horne, a resident of Lowell, beloved wife of the late Horace W. Horne, Sr., died on Wednesday, April 27, 2016, at the Lowell General Hospital, following a period of declining health. She was 92.

Jeannette was born in Lowell on October 9, 1923, a daughter of the late Joseph and Lavinia (Landry) Riley.

She was a lifelong resident of Lowell. Jeannette graduated from St. Michael Parochial School in 1937 and Lowell High School in 1941.

Jeannette loved to read, enjoyed crossword puzzles and took pleasure in knitting and crocheting.

Survivors include her four children and spouses, Joseph and Dorothy (O'Flahaven) Horne of Las Vegas, NV, Olan R. Horne, of Huntington, Mark and Paula (Lanthier) Horne, of Lowell, Julanne Horne-Sakelakos of Lowell, with whom she resided; two daughters in law, Ann (David) Horne, Maureen (Meehan) Horne, both of Lowell; nine grandchildren, Jonathan and his wife April (Marshall) Horne of Kennebunk, ME, Olan R and his wife Katherine Merrill-Horne of Dracut, Marc P. Horne, Christopher Horne, Alex Sakelakos all of Lowell, Amy Hickey and her husband Chris of Las Vegas, NV, Jessica Horne of Lowell, Kara Sutherland and her husband Justin of VA, Olivia Horne of Salem, NH; seven great grandchildren, Haily, Shawn, and Joseph Chase of Las Vegas, Ava and Ayna Horne of Kennebunk, ME, Kendall Sakelakos, Kaedyn and Kennedy Sutherland all of VA, Seamus and Rowan Merrill-Horne of Dracut; two sisters, Catherine Smith of Greenfield, Mary Gordon of Apex, NC; and many nieces and nephews. She was the mother of the late Horace W. Horne, Jr., and twin sister of the late Thomas Riley, and sister of the late Francis Riley, and John L. Riley.
