Jeannette C. Camire

March 5, 1924 — December 1, 2008

Jeannette C. (St. Hilaire) Camire, a Lowell resident, widow of Gerard J. Camire, died Monday December 1, 2008 following an extended period of declining health due to Oculopharyngeal Muscular Dystrophy. She was 84.
Born in Lowell on March 5, 1924, she was a daughter of the late Napoleon and Corona (Demers) St. Hilaire.
Mrs. Camire was a resident of Dracut for 35 years moving to Lowell in 1988. Prior to her retirement she was employed as a receptionist for Joseph Montminy, OD, a medical secretary for Raoul Drapeau, MD, Walter Drapeau, DDS, and Frank Heifetz, MD.
Jean treasured her family and friends and always enjoyed cooking, and baking for them. Along with her love of art, she took great pleasure in knitting, needlepoint, counter-cross stitching and sewing, often creating her own intricate patterns for family and friends. She thoroughly enjoyed music and dancing, but was passionate about watching the Red Sox play ball.
Survivors include a son, Jay Camire and his partner Rei Diaz of Miami, FL; a daughter and son-in- law, Sandra and Michael Zeidman of Lowell; two granddaughters and their husbands, Heather and Greg Mihaich of Ballston Lake, NY, Jennifer and Michael Gacek of Lowell; two great-grandchildren, Brandon Mihaich and Halianna Gacek; three sisters, Claire Duhamel and Pauline Hogan both of Lowell, and the late Lilianne Sousa of Dracut; two sisters in law Estelle St. Marie of Dracut and Cecile Camire of Florida; and several nieces and nephews.
