Jeannette L. (Vaughn) Barros

Jeannette L. (Vaughn) Barros, beloved wife of Michael A. Barros, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, August 19, 2021 at the Lowell General Hospital. She was 60.

Born in Somerville on April 12, 1961, she was a daughter of the late Fred, Jr. and Lorraine (Safford) Vaughn. Jeannette moved to Lowell at a young age and graduated from the Greater Lowell Technical High School Nursing program in 1979, and later the nursing school at Tewksbury State Hospital. As a Licensed Practical Nurse Jeannette worked for More than 20 years at the Tewksbury Hospital and various local nursing homes.

The nurse training that Jeannette received was instrumental in helping her care for her late son Jack for many years. Jeannette was a helper by nature and was always there to lend a hand whenever asked.

She is survived by her husband Michael A. Barros; brothers Fred Vaughn, III of North Chelmsford, Russell Vaughn of Texas, Steven Vaughn of Lowell; a sister Julie Almeida of Texas; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Joseph and Maryjane Barros of Dracut, Marianne and Mark Lemieux, Linda and Edward Kulis all of Hudson, NH, Lisa Barros and Roscoe Saulnier of Manchester, NH, Daniel and Susan Barros of Tyngsboro; and several nieces, nephews, and friends. Jeannette was the mother of the late John Joseph "Jack" Barros.

Relatives and friends are invited to Jeannette's Life Celebration at the McKenna-Ouellette Funeral Home, 327 Hildreth Street from 9 until 10:30 AM on Tuesday. Her Funeral Mass will follow at 11:00 in St. Michael Church, 12 6th Street Lowell. Burial in St. Mary Cemetery.
