Lowell - Jeanne L. (Martel) Lyons, 76, widow of John R. Lyons, died Thursday August 24, at her Lowell residence.
Born in Rumford, Maine on May 9, 1930, a daughter of the late David and Bertha (Thibedeau) Martel.
Mrs. Lyons was a restaurateur who along with her husband owned and operated the Dairy Queen restaurant on Gorham Street for thirty years, retiring in 1987.
She enjoyed spending time at her camp in Dunstable, Daytona Beach, FL, and Myrtle Beach, SC. While in Florida she played in several bridge leagues.
Survivors include three sons and two daughters in law, Steven and Janice Lyons, Guy and Peggy Lyons, Phil Lyons, all of Lowell; two daughters and a son in law, Martha and Gerald Gath of Dunstable, Linda Gavin of Townsend; a sister Louise Martel of South Carolina; twelve beloved grandchildren, Laura, Matthew, Michael, Derek, Lindsay and Cheyenna Lyons, Jessica, John, and Jaclyn Gath, Rick, Kelly and Ross Gavin; a great grandson Kyle Gavin; and a dear friend Lorraine Lussier of South Carolina.
