Loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister
Jeanne L. (Turcotte) McKenna of Lowell, MA passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 23, 2026, at the age of 93. She was the beloved wife of the late Walter “Bub” McKenna. Born on July 16, 1932, in Lowell, Jeanne was the daughter of the late Victoria (Byron) and Arthur Turcotte.
She was a longtime resident of the Centralville section of Lowell, and resided on Beacon Street. Jeanne was a longtime parishioner of St. Michael Church.
Jeanne worked many years at the Colonial Gas Company and was employed at the Lowell Association of the Blind where she worked for more than a decade prior to her retirement and becoming a caregiver to her parents.
Jeanne lived a life defined by quiet elegance, impeccable manners, and a warm, sweet spirit. She loved to read, sew, play cards, shop and spend time with family.
Jeanne is survived by her brother, Jerry Turcotte and sister-in-law Ute of Wading River, NY. She was predeceased by her brother Jack Turcotte and his wife Dorothy and sister Pauline Foley and her husband Chuck.
Jeanne was the mother of Victoria Johnson and late husband Scott Johnson of Punta Gorda, FL; Louise Burton and husband Wayne of Windham, NH; Bill McKenna and wife Kristyn of Dracut, MA and Bob McKenna and wife Johnna from Gilmanton, NH; grandson Mark Johnson and wife Angela from Pinecrest, FL.
Jeanne was the proud grandmother of eleven grandchildren Mark Johnson, Wayne Burton II, Tom Burton, Jenny Salvas, Joy Rothaug, Matt McKenna, Sean McKenna, Emily Gosselin, Jack McKenna, Jaiden McKenna and Maddie McKenna.
Jeanne was blessed with nineteen great-grandchildren and many other nieces and nephews that were an important part of her life.
The family extends heartfelt thanks to all who touched Jeanne’s life and helped make it as exceptional as she was.
Relatives and friends are invited to Jeanne's Life Celebration at the McKENNA-OUELLETTE Funeral Home, 327 Hildreth Street, Lowell from 8:30 AM until 10:15 AM on Saturday, May 30, 2026. Jeanne’s Funeral Mass will follow at 11 AM in St. Michael Church, Lowell. Burial will follow in St. Patrick’s Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the St. Francis Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, 406 Court Street, Laconia, NH 03246.
