Jeanne Marie (Joyal) Gendron, 76, a resident of the Highlands section of Lowell, died Thursday evening, July 3, 2014 at her residence. She was the beloved wife of the late Leo R. Gendron who passed in 2004.
Born in Lowell on April 12, 1938, she was a daughter of the late William and Bernadette (Cote) Joyal.
Mrs. Gendron volunteered with Catholic Charities, and was a foster mother to many children.
She retired from Wang Labs. in Lowell and following started Memere's Daycare in Lowell.
She was a communicant of the former Notre Dame de Lourdes Parish where she had been a member of the Ladies Sodality. She was currently a member of Holy Family Parish.
She enjoyed reading, knitting and crocheting, but most important to her was time spent with family.
She leaves a son and daughter-in-law, Robert A. and Andree D. (St. Hilaire) Gendron of Tyngsboro; a daughter and son-in-law, Donna D. and William L. Hoard, Jr. of Lowell; 5 grandchildren, Nichole Collins and her husband Dana of Dracut, Jessica Goguen and her husband Michael of No. Chelmsford, Joshua Gendron of Tyngsboro, Emilyann Hoard of Lowell and Brittany Martel of No. Chelmsford; 5 great grandchildren, Haley, Leo and Daisy-Jeanne Goguen and Elizabeth and Emma Collins; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Marie Joyal of VA, Omer and Linda Gendron, Frank and Joan Gendron, all of Lowell; also several nieces and nephews. She was a sister of the late Albert Joyal and adoptive mother of the late Christopher J. Lambert.
