Jeanne D'Arc (Garneau) Gagne, beloved wife of the late Raymond A. Gagne, died on
May 14, 2018, at her Dracut residence surrounded by her family. She was 90.
Jeanne was born in Lowell on February 24, 1928, a daughter of the late Amedee and Elizabeth (Maheu) Garneau.
Prior to her retirement Jeanne worked for GenRad Electronics in Concord. She retired as a group leader in the assembly department.
Jeanne volunteered her time at Lowell General Hospital where she would visit with patients.
She also made rosary beads from fisherman cord and gave them to family, friends, and patients at the hospital.
Recently Jeanne enjoyed visiting her friends at Community Family in Lowell. Family was paramount to Jeanne. Sunday was family day to her and she just loved when everyone would drop in. All were welcome. She would proclaim "Put more water in the soup!" Jeanne also looked forward to the yearly family visit to Whalom Park.
Jeanne is survived by her seven children and their spouses, Robert and Estelle Gagne of Merrimack, NH, Ronald and Christina Gagne of Kittery, ME, Richard and Gail Gagne of Hudson, NH, Roland and Carol Gagne of Windham, NH, Judith and Thomas Kelley of Westford, Raymond and Annette Gagne of Rindge, NH, Roger and Theresa Gagne of Dracut; 14 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; a sister Julie Blanchette of Lowell; and several nieces and nephews. She was also the sister of the late Amedee, Lucien, and Leo Garneau, Flossie Grondine, Marguerite Desrosiers, and Therese Rousseau.
Relatives and friends are invited to Jeanne's Life Celebration on Sunday from 2 until 5 PM in the McKENNA-OUELLETTE FUNERAL HOME, 327 Hildreth Street, Lowell. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday at 10:00 AM in Ste. Marguerite D'Youville Parish, 1340 Lakeview Ave Dracut. Burial in St. Joseph Cemetery.
