Jeanne I. Dumais

June 20, 1941 — March 18, 2021

Jeanne Irene (Morrissette) Dumais, daughter of Joseph R. Morrissette and Colombe Perras, and beloved wife of the late Leo A. Dumais, her husband of 24 years, passed away peacefully surrounded by her cherished family on March 18, 2021, at age 79.Jeanne was born on June 20, 1941 and grew up in a French Catholic community in Lowell, MA, where she attended St. Louis Parish School and Academy. For ten years, she worked at St. Louis Parish School as a parish receptionist, a medical assistant and volunteered with first-grade students and parish functions. Upon retiring in 2004, Jeanne returned to Lorain, Ohio, to be with her children and grandchildren. She was a faithful member of St. Peter Parish in Lorain, OH where she enjoyed attending Masses and visiting with friends. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family, friends, attending her grandchildren's sports events, and cheering them on.To be remembered by your goodness is admirable, but to create goodness is invaluable. Jeanne's legacy lives on through the charity, generosity, virtue, and grace of her family, friends, and those that she touched.In her own words: "When tomorrow starts without me, don't think we're far apart, for every time you think of me, I'm right there in your heart. Find something good in every day, laugh, love, and live. Always support family in good times and bad times. Help those in need, follow your dreams, and believe in yourself. I will always be with you, your loving Memere" XOShe is survived by her children, Joanne (Craig) Wright, Michael (former spouse, Lisa)Dumais and Kevin (Charlie) Dumais; brothers, Normand (Joanne) Morrissette, Gerald (Sandra – deceased) Morrissette and Rene (Elly) Morrissette; her grandchildren, Brittany, Joshua (Tori), Cameron, Kyle, and Addyson; great-grandchildren, Braelon, Oliver and Isla; her Godchildren, Vicki Kosco, Donna Moore and John Swanson; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Jeanne's Life Celebration at the MCKENNA-OUELLETTE FUNERAL HOME, 327 Hildreth Street, Lowell on Friday, June 17th from 9:00am until 10:15am followed by her Funeral Mass at 11:00am at St. Rita Parish in Lowell.
