Jeanne G. Berard (Thibeault), 82, widow of Richard J. Berard and a lifelong resident of Centralville, passed away on Monday, October 21, 2024 after a long and courageous battle with cancer surrounded by her loving family.
She was born in Dracut on November 16, 1941, and was the daughter of Octave and Viola (Morin) Thibeault.
Jeanne attended St. Louis Elementary School in Lowell and went on to graduate from St. Louis Academy.
Jeanne was a faithful woman who devoted many years of service to St. Louis de France Parish and schools, where she worked as a kindergarten teaching assistant for 20 years. Jeanne also worked as an administrative assistant at UMass Lowell for 20 years.
Jeanne enjoyed crafting, baking and had a new found love of travel. Most of all her most cherished moments were spent with her children, grandchildren and friends, making ordinary moments extraordinary.
Survivors include her eight children, Michael and Helen Berard of Dracut, Kenneth Berard and Suzanne Frechette of Lowell, Catherine and Richard Marquis of Pepperell, Kimberly Gugliuzza of Haverhill, Ann and Michael Kaszuk of Windham, NH, Corey Berard and Jennifer Valadao of Lowell, Diane and Michael Farnell of Salem, NH, Susan and Paul Stanton of Dracut, twelve grandchildren, John Berard, Christopher Berard, Ryan Berard and his wife Lisa, Laurel Berard, Sean Berard, Nicholas Marquis, Olivia Marquis, Lydia Gugliuzza, Colin Kaszuk, Leah Farnell, Sam Farnell, Aiden Stanton; one great grandchild Sloane; her brothers in law and sisters in law, Raymond E. Berard of Lowell, Rachel Berard of Lowell, Gerard L. & Lynne Berard of Florida, Pauline J. & James Lankford of Hudson, NH, Irene T. & William Sheehan, Jr. of Lowell, Teresa A. Berard of Lowell, Jeanne F. & Paul McNamara of Billerica; several nieces and nephews. She was also the sister in law of the late Therese Berard, Roland A. Berard and Leo R. Berard.
Relatives and friends are invited to Jeanne's Life Celebration in the McKenna-Ouellette Funeral Home, 327 Hildreth Street, from 4 until 7 PM on Friday. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday at 10:00 AM in St. Francis Church, 115 Wheeler Road, Dracut. Burial in St. Joseph Cemetery.
