Jean F. (Gagnon) Kendall of Dracut passed away peacefully in her sleep on May 6, 2026, at the age of 93. She was the beloved wife of the late Walter L. "Wally" Kendall, Sr., with whom she shared 58 years of marriage.
Born on September 22, 1932, in Lowell, Jean was the daughter of the late Corrine (Loiselle) Gagnon and Albert J. Gagnon, Sr. She was raised in Dracut and educated in the Dracut school system. During Wally’s career in the United States Air Force, Jean embraced a life of travel and adventure alongside him. Together, they explored the world, and among her favorite traditions were their annual visits to Portugal.
Jean’s life revolved around her family. She was a fierce protector, unwavering supporter, and the heart of every gathering. Some of her happiest moments were spent around the kitchen table playing cards and games with Wally, her children, and grandchildren — whether it was 45s, Skat for quarters, or Rummikub. Family members fondly remember her playful habit of pinching Wally whenever he beat her at cards. She loved spending the Fourth of July surrounded by family, watching the kids play volleyball in the pool. She had years of laughter with her brother Jerry and sister-in-law Lorraine at their pool house. She shared a special bond with her sisters and brothers who lived a stones throw away and her beloved late dog, Annie, who was always on her lap and accompanied her everywhere.
Jean was an excellent cook, and you never left her home hungry. When one grandchild developed a love for apple pie, Jean baked him one every week for years. Her potato salad and ribs became staples at family celebrations, and she never turned down a glass of her favorite boxed red wine.
Jean was remarkably creative. She handcrafted outfits and Halloween costumes from papier-mâché, enjoyed gardening, and took enormous pride in her beautiful yard and home. She cherished simple moments, like taking her grandchildren outside to feed the horses beside her property. She made Christmas magical with carloads of presents. She had a gift for making every person feel special, loved, and welcomed. She was the glue that held her family together. They will miss her greatly.
Jean was the devoted mother of Linda J. Harvey of Windham, NH; Walter L. Kendall, Jr. of Nashua, NH; and Catherine McCarthy-Carson and her husband, Thomas Carson, of Pelham, NH.
She was the loving and proud grandmother of John Harvey Jr. of Windham, NH; Justin Harvey and his former wife Shelley of Littleton, MA; Tracey and her husband Stephen Wiggins of Nashua, NH; Mitchell and his wife Claudia Kendall of Littleton, MA; Ross and his wife Maggie Kendall of Mystic, CT; and Katrina and her husband Kadeem Coulter of Pelham, NH.
Jean was also blessed with ten cherished great-grandchildren: Andrew and Emily Harvey; Ellie Wiggins; Mackenzie and Liliana Kendall; Charlie, Sarah, and Lucy Kendall; and Kennedy and Karson Coulter. Having her come to their sporting events and activities was incredibly special.
She was survived by her sister’s in law Lorraine, Evelyn, and Lorraine Gagnon; Robert and Rose Gagnon; Denis and Sharon Gagnon; Diane Gormley; and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her siblings Gerald Gagnon, Sr.; Harvey Gagnon; Shirley Lagasse; Donald Gagnon; Albert ‘Chubby” Gagnon, Jr.,; Doris Crider; and her brother-in-law Robert Gormley.
It being Jean's request her funeral services were held privately.
