Jean H. (Hansen) Doyle

October 14, 1920 — December 8, 2017

Jean H. (Hansen) Doyle, a resident of Tyngsboro, the beloved wife of the late Robert J. Doyle passed away on Friday, December 8, 2017, surrounded by her family. She was 97.

Born in Chicago, IL on October 14, 1920, Jean was the daughter of the late Hugo and Ethel (Pritchard) Hansen.

Jean graduated from Marycrest and St. Ambrose College in Davenport, Iowa with a BA in Science.

She was a WWII Veteran having served in the Army Air Force and received the rank of 1st Lieutenant.

Prior to her retirement Jean was actively involved in the family business Lowell Provision Company.

She was a member of the Ladies Sodality at St. Margaret Parish, a member of the Guild of the Infant Savior and past president of the Catholic College Club of Lowell.

Jean was a member of the Tyngsboro Senior Citizens Center, the Whistler House Art Association and an active supporter of Alzheimer's research and fundraising.

Jean was an avid reader and enjoyed spending her summers by the ocean. She had a love of art and nature and music, where she enjoyed drawing, painting, theater, museums and travel.

Jean loved life and found no greater happiness than spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Surviving Jean are her nine children and their spouses, Dennis J. Doyle of Litchfield, NH, Robert M. and Pat Doyle of Englewood, FL, Ann Louise and Joel Bedell of Merrimack, NH, Nancy D. Roy of Windham, NH, Peter F. and Louise (Cote) Doyle of Tyngsboro, John R. and Patti (Quinn) Doyle of Lowell, Catherine D. and Raymond Elie of Dracut, Barbara A. and Peter Johnson of Newton, and Philip D. Doyle of Nashua, NH; fourteen grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

The Doyle Family would like to thank all of the staff at D'Youville Senior Care for their love, care and support especially those on A&C Wings.

At Jean's request all funeral services were private. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the Alzheimer's Association www.alz.org, PO Box 9601, Washington, D.C. 20090-6011 or to D'Youville Foundation Activity Fund, 981 Varnum Ave. Lowell, MA 01854.
