Jayne Marie Blazon

August 8, 1964 — June 4, 2014

Jayne Marie Blazon, 49, a longtime resident of Windham, NH, and Buzzard's Bay, adjacent to Cape Cod, died unexpectedly on June 4th, 2014.
Born in Lowell on August 8th, 1964, she was a daughter of Robert A. Blazon, a retired Dracut Police officer, and Judith M. (Zwearcan) Blazon, a devoted mother, of Dracut.
Jayne was a 1982 graduate of Dracut High School.
In 1983, Jayne was hired at the young age of 19 by Middlesex Community College as a faculty secretary at the Bedford, MA campus. She would remain a loyal member of MCC for thirty years. She achieved and proudly worked as the Executive Administrative Assistant to Carole A. Cowan, President of Middlesex Community College. Jayne was among one of the first employees to be transferred to the new Lowell campus, along with President Carole Cowan, Vice President Jay Linnehan, and Lowell Campus Manager Dean Molly Sheehy. Jayne truly loved and lived for her job. She was affectionately known as "The Presence behind the President," up until her retirement in March 2013. Friends and colleagues alike agree that Jayne's selfless actions spoke volumes over her words. She was a friend to many at MCC. Her talents and creativity were utilized in many dimensions at the school- she was indispensable in helping to plan many events, commencement ceremonies, Opening Day Celebrations, and MCC Annual Fund meetings. Jayne was also the secretary of the Board of Trustees for the college, where she documented the minutes, as well as prepared the meeting area. Jayne played a large part in the planning and arrangement of the MCC Celebrity Forum, which included the former President George H.W. Bush and former First Lady Barbara Bush, Sarah Ferguson-The Duchess of York, Colin Powell, Rudy Giuliani, Barbara Walters, Walter Cronkite and Doris Kearns Goodwin, performers Michael J. Fox, Geena Davis, Mike and Chris Wallace, Tim Russert and, Jay Leno. Throughout the planning process of each event, Jayne was effervescent, greeting each person she came in contact with with a warm, cheerful smile.

Jayne's enthusiastic and caring commitment to MCC illustrates a deep love for her work, and her everlasting smile and love toward all of her colleagues will not be forgotten. Her heart and passion went into everything at MCC, but she held President Carole A. Cowan in the utmost highest regard- Jayne considered her not simply her boss, but her family, and loving friend.

Jayne loved spending time with her sister Carol Anne, who also is an employee of MCC. The two spent every break together, even taking vacations in tandem. Co-workers were so accustomed to seeing "the sisters" together, that when one was absent, they often inquired with a grin, "Where's your better half today?" They were inseparable; truly two peas in a pod.

Jayne loved her family. Similar to her one of her roles at MCC, she was always happy to plan and host family gatherings. A natural entertainer, Jayne excelled in cooking for her loved ones at parties, and relished in serving her guests. She enjoyed boating, particularly in Woods Hole.

Jayne's true passion outside of work was spending afternoons with her mother- gardening, walking, and simply confiding in one another, not only as mother and daughter, but also as the best of friends.
In addition to her loving parents, Jayne is survived by her sisters, Shirley Ann Rowe and fiance Rick Landry of Nashua, NH; Carol Anne Brouillette and her husband, Philip Brouillette of Dracut; a sister-in-law Paula Burke and husband Barry of Tyngsboro; along with her Godchild Niece, Jessica-Lee Robinson, Godson Nephew Robert H. Rowe, nieces Laurin, Melody, and Harmony Rowe, and nephew Philip Brouillette; as well as many aunts, uncles, and countless dear friends.
She was the sister to the late Karen Marie Blazon (identical twin sister to Carol Anne), and Godmother of her late nephew, Joshua Steven Robinson.
She will be deeply missed by all those who loved her.
