Jason Kawa, 33, a longtime resident of Dracut, died peacefully on Friday June 5, 2009, at his Dracut residence surrounded by his loving family and friends following a courageous, twelve year, struggle with cancer.
Born in Lowell on October 24, 1975, he was the beloved son of Thomas and Diane (Theriault) Kawa of Dracut.
He was a 1994 graduate of Dracut High School and a 2003 graduate of The University of Massachusetts at Lowell.
Jason had the amazing ability to make people smile and laugh at all times. His presence in this world has made a lasting impact on his many friends and family. His laughter, spirit and humor will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
In addition to his parents, Jason is survived by his sister, Kristen Kawa and Casey Phelan of Lowell; his paternal grandfather, Edward Kawa of Dracut; many loving aunts, uncles, cousins and numerous friends. Jason was the grandson of the late Raymond and Genevieve Theriault, Janet Kawa and nephew of the late Susanne Gookin.
