Janice M. (Robertson) Merrill

August 11, 1928 — May 7, 2014

DRACUT - Janice Robertson Merrill, 85, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on May 7th 2014.
Janice was born in Dracut, the daughter of the late William F. and Evelyn Barry Robertson and was the wife of the late Cy Raymond Merrill who passed in June of 2004.
Janice was educated in the Dracut school system and was a former 1944 Dracut High cheerleader. She looked forward to working the voting polls at the Dracut Yellow Meeting House for over 10 years. Janice worked at the Yum Yum Shop at the Sunrise - Market Basket Plaza in Lowell until they closed. She continued to be close with all her Yum Yum Shop "girls" throughout her life. Janice later worked in the housekeeping department of the former Hilton/Doubletree Hotel in Lowell.
Every morning you would see her taking her walk in Dracut Center and every June you would find her as the first person at Parlee Farm to pick strawberries and deliver boxes of them to family. She also enjoyed driving to the beach to sit and read her books by the ocean in Seabrook. But most of all, she enjoyed her children, grandchildren and great grand-children around her.
Janice leaves her daughters Bunny Monteiro and husband Nuno of Lowell, Robin Merrill and her significant other Anthony Gordon of Hillsborough, NH; her son Barry Merrill and his significant other Eileen Frechette of Hudson, NH; grandchildren Anthony Monteiro of Dracut, Sara Sallese and husband Jonpaul of Beverly, Justin Vigeant and wife Angie of Topsham, ME, Bradley Merrill of Buffalo, NY and Travis Vigeant, who made his home with his grandmother. She also leaves behind step-grandchildren,
Michael Monteiro of North Andover, Marc Monteiro of Lowell, Ashley Gordon of Dracut, Mark Frechette and his wife Shawna of Manchester NH and Gabriel Sorci of Buffalo, NY. She leaves her beloved great- grandchildren Kylee, Tyler, and Ryan. Janice also leaves her sister Marie Virginia Casserly of Chelmsford and her sister in law Marilyn Perry of Pepperell, as well as several cousins, nieces and nephews.
Janice was also predeceased by her sisters Phyllis Robertson, Elaine Robertson and brother William F. Roberston, Jr.
