Janet K. Toolin

Janet Katherine (Hearn) Toolin, age 84, passed away peacefully on September 16, 2026.

Born on October 4, 1941, in Cambridge, Massachusetts, Janet was the beloved daughter of the late Philip and Rose (Glynn) Hearn.

It was while working at an advertising agency that she met the love of her life, Brendan. The two were wed in summer of 1972, beginning a beautiful journey of companionship and deep devotion that spanned over five decades.

Janet was a warm, kind, and loving person whose greatest joy in life was her family. She cherished every moment spent being a dedicated mother and a doting grandmother.

She also held a deep love for New England's coastal beauty, frequently finding peace and happiness during her time spent in Cape Cod and Maine.

She leaves behind a legacy of love and is survived by her devoted husband of 54 years, Brendan E. Toolin, Jr.; her loving son, Brendan E. Toolin III, and his wife, Darlene D. Toolin; and her cherished granddaughter, Layla Rose Toolin. She is also survived by her brothers, Philip Hearn and his wife Ellen, and Peter Hearn and his wife Becky, as well as several nieces, nephews, and one grandniece.

In accordance with Janet’s wishes, funeral services will be private and limited to family only.
