LOWELL - Janet A. (Brodeur) Roper, 62, a Lowell resident, passed away on Wednesday, February 8, 2017 at the Lowell General Hospital surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of the late Walter J. Roper, Jr.
Born in Lowell on May 10, 1954, she was a daughter of the late Paul and Anita (Fortin) Brodeur.
Janet was a graduate of Alvirne High School in Hudson, NH.
She served with the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War, from 1972 until her Honorable Discharge in 1973.
She had been employed by Walmart in Chelmsford and Tewksbury as a cashier.
Janet was a communicant of St. Michael Church.
She is survived by two children, Michael M. Roper, Sr. and his wife Ines of Lowell and Julie Baldwin and her husband Richard of Lowell; two step children, Kevin Roper of Leominster and Kathleen Reynolds and her husband John of Nashua, NH; three brothers, Normand Brodeur and his wife Debora of Ayer, Roland Brodeur of Pelham, NH and Roger Brodeur of Londonderry, NH; a sister, Nancy Searles of Concord, NH; a brother-in-law, Robert McDonald of Lowell; nine grandchildren, Alyssa Donnelly, Michael M. Roper, Jr., Ashley Roper, Cam Roper, Shayna Roper, Hayley Hines, John Reynolds and his wife Leah, Corey Reynolds and Derek Reynolds; many great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. She also leaves Debra Roper of Lowell. She was a sister of the late Paulette McDonald.
