Janet M. Pratt

Dracut - Janet M. (Copeland) Pratt, a Dracut resident, died Thursday December 3, 2009, following a courageous 17 year battle with Multiple Sclerosis. She was 58.
She was born in Lowell on June 16, 1951, a daughter of the late Jerome T. and Dorothy E. (Means) Copeland.
Janet was a graduate of St. Michael Grammar School, Academy of Notre Dame, and the Andover Institute of Business.
In earlier years she worked at Hanscom Air Force Base, with the Security Police. Janet enjoyed travelling throughout Europe while she and her family were stationed in Augsburg, Germany.
She will be remembered for her devotion to her family, she Cherished the time spent with them, in particular her grandchildren. Her positive attitude during her affliction with MS was an inspiration to them.
Survivors include two sons and a daughter in law, James T. Pratt, Robert M. Pratt and his wife Sarah F. Shaw-Pratt, all of Dracut; two daughters, Dorine A. Pratt, Colleen M. Pratt, both of Lowell; a sister Jerelyn A. Copeland, of Dracut, with whom she made her home and who was her dedicated caregiver; two grandchildren, Taylor M. Blanchette, and Cayden A. Blanchette; and her former husband James F. Pratt of Greensboro, MD. She was also the sister of the late Robert Copeland.
