Lowell - James Emmett Walker, 85, a lifelong Lowell resident, beloved husband of Arlene O. (Otis) Walker, with whom he was married for 54 years, died Tuesday at a local nursing home.
He was born on Lowell on September 1, 1921 and was a graduate of St. Michael School, and Lowell High School.
During WWII Mr. Walker served in the US Army and had taken part in the Battle of Okinawa.
He was employed as a laborer and had worked for many years at the Bedford Air Base. Mr. Walker was a communicant of St. Michael Church.
Surviving him besides his wife is a brother, Joseph Walker of San Diego, CA; three grandchildren; three great grandchildren; five cousins, Esther Riopelle of Tyngsboro, Mary Ann Riopelle of Tyngsboro, Sr. Elizabeth Riopelle of Bethany, Antigonish, Nova Scotia, Mary Carleton of Dunstable, Thomas Doyle of Hampton, NH; a son in law Richard Pay of Somersworth, NH; a sister in law and brother in law, Norma and William Row of Dover, NH. He was also the father of the late Patricia Pay
