James E. Nicholas a Dracut resident and beloved husband of Christiane (Regan) Nicholas passed away on Saturday, September 1, 2018, at the Whittier Rehabilitation Hospital following a three year battle with ALS and lung cancer. He was 44.
Born in Lowell on October 31, 1973, he was the son of the late James A. and Jeannine (Morin) Nicholas.
Jim was educated in Lowell and Graduated from the Greater Lowell Vocational High School. Following high school Jim enlisted in the US Army where he served in Korea and Washington.
Jim worked as a concrete finisher for Harold Chamber & Co for more than 20 years.
Jim loved life and his family. He was happiest around them. Jim enjoyed cookouts, fishing and country music. He was especially proud of his North Dakota and Native American roots and the Chippewa Tribe. He and Christiane had planned on visiting the Turtle Mountain reservation before his illness.
Surviving Jim besides his wife of 21 years are their son, James E. Nicholas, Jr. of Dracut, three sisters Doreen, Barbara Ann, and Stacey; Several nieces and nephews, including Alyssa, Jasmine, Makayla, and Kevin; his mother in law Karen Regan of Lowell; and his dear friend and fishing buddy Pete. He was also the son in law of the late Dave Regan.
It being his request all funeral services were private.
