LOWELL - James W. Manock, 71, a resident of the Christian Hill neighborhood in the Centralville section, passed away on Sunday, December 6, 2020, following a brief illness. He was the beloved husband of Patricia A. (Masterson) Manock, to whom he was married for 42 years, and the proud loving father of Steven W. Manock.
Born in Dover, NH on March 29, 1949, he was a son of the late Wilbur C. and Evelyn (Sullivan) Manock.
Jim was a graduate of St. Mary's Parochial School, Dover High School and RETS Technical School in Boston.
He started his career as a field engineer with the computer company Qantel Corp and stayed with them through several ownership changes retiring under DecisionOne Corp as Sr. Customer Field Service Engineer after 45 years.
Jim's favorite pastime was spending time going on day trips and vacations with his wife and son. He enjoyed trips to North Conway, Salisbury Beach and Florida.
Jim also enjoyed bowling with many friends, especially his cousin Kerry Johnson. Jim always looked forward to the holidays and family gatherings especially spending time with Billy, Scott, Maura Masterson, Dylan and Trevor Johnson and the rest of the extended family. He also liked watching the Boston Bruins, Patriots and Red Sox.
In addition to his wife Patricia, he leaves a son, Steven W. Manock of Lowell; a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, William F. and Theresa Masterson of Lowell; a special aunt Evelyn Cummings and numerous cousins. He was a son-in-law of the late Francis and Louise (Conlin) Masterson.
MANOCK - It being his request, there will be no Visitation. Relatives and friends are invited to Jim's Memorial Funeral Mass on Tuesday, December 15, at 10:00 AM in St. Michael Church. Interment will follow in St. Mary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in his name may be to: St Vincent de Paul Society, St. Michael Conference, 543 Bridge St., Lowell, MA 01850 or to Lazarus House, 412 Hampshire St., Lawrence, MA 01841.
