James “Jimmy” Gomes, age 55, a resident of Lexington, KY, died Thursday, December 22, 2022 at Banner Page Hospital in Page, AZ following a long illness.
He was born in Lowell on December 3, 1967, and was a son of John J. and Lorraine M. (Gauthier) Gomes of Dracut. He received his education in Chelmsford and was a graduate of Chelmsford High School.
Prior to his illness, Jimmy worked in construction for many years. Earlier in life Jim proudly served in the US Marines and was employed at Xerox Lexington, MA.
He was an avid fan of all of the New England sports teams.
In addition to his parents, Jimmy is survived by his brother, John A. Gomes of Cohoes, NY; two sisters, Lisa Sullivan and her husband Robert of Dracut and Laura Gomes of Page, AZ; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was also the father of the late Jennifer Gagne, the grandson of the late John and Mary Gomes and Armand and Aurea Gauthier. and the longtime companion of the late Martha Moody.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Jimmy’s Funeral Service at St. Joseph Cemetery Chapel, 90 Riverneck Road in Chelmsford on Tuesday, January 3rd at 12 Noon. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Jimmy’s memory to the Boston Children’s Hospital Trust, 401 Park Drive Ste. 602, Boston, MA 02115 or at giving.childrenshospital.org/.
