DRACUT - On January 25, 2019, Jackie left this life after a lengthy battle with Parkinson's disease. A nurse's nurse, she brought loving, compassionate, skilled and dedicated care to countless patients over a career spanning more than four decades. These qualities Jackie brought to everything, enriching the lives of family, friends and neighbors with a generous spirit that was something to behold.
Born in Newark, New Jersey on June 2, 1929, Jackie moved to Lowell with her family at the outbreak of World War II. She graduated from Lowell High School in 1947 and the Lowell General Hospital School of Nursing in 1950, where she earned her RN. She began her nursing career in New York City, then worked at the Brighton Marine Hospital. She eventually returned home to Lowell General, where she served for many years.
Jackie was a lifelong fan of all Boston sports, particularly her beloved Red Sox. She had a lifelong crush on Ted Williams. She loved food, wine, gardening, movies and the theatre. She loved shopping especially. She was a steadfast friend, a loyal and loving daughter, sister and aunt, there for anyone who needed her.
Jackie was predeceased by her brother Roger. She is survived by a niece, a nephew, sister-in-law, cousins, beloved godchildren and friends. She will be dearly missed.
Jackie's life will be celebrated at a mass of Christian burial, to be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday morning, February 5, at St. Mary Magdalene Church, 93 Lakeview Ave., Tyngsboro, MA.
