J. Eric Bertrand

October 20, 1978 — September 19, 2021

FITCHBURG - J. Eric Bertrand, age 42, a resident of Fitchburg and former Dracut resident passed away unexpectedly Sunday, September 19th 2021 at Leominster Hospital. He was the much-loved husband and high school sweetheart of Jennifer (Patenaude) Bertrand.

Eric was born in Lowell on October 20th 1978, and was the son of Rev. Richard and Michelle (Ricard) Bertrand of Dracut. He received his GED and recently attended Mount Wachusett Community College where he particularly enjoyed his philosophy courses.

Eric was employed by City Line Hydro where his spirit and passion for plants and nature created an unmeasurable joy in his life.
Eric basked in the spiritual and healing properties that the marijuana plant offered. He spent much of his time growing, processing, gifting and participating in its essence. Eric belonged to many social communities that shared the same love and interests he did.

He spent lots of time outdoors especially with his dogs Misty and Tela. Eric above all was a soul mate, a father of two beautiful children and a man who was a gift to his friends.

In addition to his wife and parents, he is survived by his daughter Felicia Patenaude and his son Evan Bertrand of Fitchburg; his brother James Bertrand Sr, his wife Kimberly and their children Olivia, James Jr. and Madeline all of Hudson, NH; his sister Jessica Davidson, her husband John and their daughter Kayla all of Dracut; his father and mother-in-law Edmour and Stasia Patenaude of Templeton.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the J. Eric Bertrand Legacy Memorial at the Pawtuckaway State Park Pavillion, 7 Pawtuckaway Rd., Nottingham, NH, on Saturday, October 9th 2021 from 12pm until 8pm to enjoy memories, music, nature and companionship.
