Isabelle Araujo Rocha Alves Da Silva, a Lowell resident, died unexpectedly on Sunday, August 13, 2017, from injuries sustained in a boating accident at the Merrimack River. She was 16.
She was born on February 1, 2001, a daughter of Jeovani Alves Da Silva and Claudia Arajo Rocha Santos and stepdaughter of Joao Batisita all of whom survive her.
Isabelle moved to Lowell two years ago from Ro, Brazil because it was her dream to come to the United States to attend the University of Lowell and later the Army for a military career.
Isabelle, an energetic always happy person was about to enter her senior year at Lowell High School. She was an avid swimmer and member of the swim team there. This year Isabelle was enrolled in the ROTC program at Lowell High School.
Isabelle loved to read, listen to music, sing, and go to the movies. She loved fashion and had a tremendous sense of style.
She will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
Surviving her besides her parents are her three sisters, Gabriela Santos, Ingrid Santos, Iasmin Santos, all of Brazil; and several aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
