Iris M. "Mili" Garcia-Barragan

LOWELL - Iris M. "Mili" Garcia-Barragan, a resident of Lowell, formerly of Lima-Peru, serenely passed away on Thursday, August 1, 2019 at Lowell General Hospital after a brave and short battle with cancer.
Mili will be remembered for her love of family and her strong faith. She actively attended St. Joseph the Worker Shrine and Holy Family Parish, both in Lowell. She sang in both of their choirs and was very active in other church groups in the area. She taught and shared her love of languages for many years.
In the three short years that she lived in the United States she touched so many lives. Mili is survived by three loving sisters, Isabel, Elena, and Miriam; a loving brother, Gustavo; two adoring nieces and three loving nephews; as well as family and friends both in the United States and in Peru.
The family would like to thank the staff at Lowell General Hospital for the care and compassion that they provided her during her illness, and for their ongoing support.
GARCIA-BARRAGAN - Relatives and friends are invited to attend Mili's Life Celebration at the MCKENNA-OUELLETTE FUNERAL HOME, 327 Hildreth Street, Lowell on Sunday from 4:00 until 8:00 PM. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday at 10:00 AM at Holy Family Parish in Lowell followed by burial in St. Joseph Cemetery in Chelmsford. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Mili's memory to Lowell General Hospital Cancer Center, 295 Varnum Avenue, Lowell, MA 01854.
